Sometimes you want a simple recipe that’s easy to make with things you usually have in the kitchen. No need to go out and grab anything exotic, just some simple whole fruit or juices. Not only easy, but healthy as well! This recipe is a basic breakfast smoothie. It’s based on orange juice, apple juice and a banana.
The idea of this breakfast smoothie s that the banana adds bulk to it to make it more filling. If you want it to be more filling again, you can use a whole peeled orange rather than orange juice. That way you get all the benefits of the fiber in the orange as well as the taste. On top of that, nothing tastes fresher than juice straight from the orange rather than out of a bottle.
Enough for 2 people
2 medium sized ripe bananas
2 medium sized peeled oranges
2 cups of fresh apple juice
A cup of ice
So, this is pretty simple. Add the ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth. The ice gives you a cold drink but also lightens the texture of the drink. You can throw in a handful of frozen blueberries for an extra shot of flavour and anti-oxidants. The great thing about this drink is that it’s filling enough to replace breakfast but still light enough that you can get out and do things without feeling overly full or sleepy.
