Which are the Best Coffee Syrup Brands?

Coffee syrups are wonderfully versatile. They can be used to add flavour and sweetness to a range of hot drinks, from flat white coffee to lattes and hot chocolate. They are also great for cocktails and desserts (click here for a few recipe ideas). However, with so much variety out there, how do you know which are the best coffee syrup brands for you? Here are two of my favourites…

Philibert Routin 1883 Coffee Syrups

Philibert Routin 1883 has been making drinks flavourings for over 130 years, and is, in my opinion, one of the best coffee syrup brands out there. Each of their syrups is made using top quality ingredients for the greatest possible intensity and aromatic accuracy. None of them contain preservatives, and they’re all made using cane sugar and water from the French Alps. Even better, their fruit syrups contain real juices rather than artificial flavours and aromas for an authentic taste.

They now have over 75 flavours to choose from , including popular varieties like hazelnut, vanilla and cinnamon as well as more adventurous ones such as eggnog, gingerbread and Irish cream. They contain no fat, cholesterol, sodium or alcohol and several are sugar free, making them an ideal treat for the health-conscious. What’s not to love?

Sweetbird  Flavoured Syrup

More than just a cute name, Sweetbird flavoured syrups are delicious particularly their Gingerbread Flavour, as this is highly ethical and free from GMOs, artificical colours and other nasties. They’re the only flavoured syups to have been approved by the Vegetarian society, and they’re all suitable for vegan diets except for the white chocolate and caramel ones, both of which contain milk.

Their selection of coffee syrups includes almost every flavour you can think of, ranging from fairly standard to borderline bizarre (peanut butter, anyone?) They also have fruit syrups and mixer syrups for smoothies, iced tea and chai, enabling you to make a huge variety of drinks with ease. If you’re in need of further inspiration, simply head to their website for some great drink recipes.

Where to Buy Your Coffee Syrups

In order to get the best price on your coffee syrups, you should always order them from a wholesale supplier. Whether you’re buying them for a café, restaurant or pub or even as a gift or a treat to yourself, you can make significant savings by buying in bulk.

CoffeeBuyer is a good one to go for as they have a wide selection to choose from, including some of the very best coffee syrups from Routin and Sweetbird, and offer free delivery on orders over £60. Go to www.coffeebuyer.co.uk to see what they currently have in stock and order online for delivery.
