Is a peanut butter smoothie really healthy? Well peanuts are a good source of protein so this smoothie is great for breakfast as it will keep you going through the morning without needing to snack on sugary sweets. 2 tablespoons of peanut butter contains about 7 grams of protein so this smoothie is also great to have after a workout. This is because your body needs extra protein after a workout to help repair the muscles.
Flaxseed adds valuable Omega3 fats which our diets are often lacking. And of course yoghurt is full of probiotics. The banana adds fiber and potassium. What a great way to get a healthy boost.
½ cup of plain or greek yoghurt
2 Tablespoons Peanut Butter
1 Cup of Milk
1 Tablespoon of Flaxseeds
½ cup of ice
If you have a powerful blender then add all the ingredients and blend. Otherwise it might be best to blend all the main ingredients and add the ice after these have been blended. Garnish with a slice of banana!
