Use this quick and simple recipe to make a refreshing batch of this Summer Basil Lemonade. (Serves 12)
1/2 cup sugar
4 1/2 cups water
3 1/3 cups fresh lemon juice (about 8 lemons)
1/4 cup basil leaves (about 5 leaves)
- to make the syrup combine sugar and 1/2 cup water in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring until sugar has dissolved. Remove from heat. Let stand until completely cool.
- Place the syrup, the rest of the water, the lemon juice and the basil in a 2 1/2-quart pitcher, stir well and refrigerate.
- To serve, pour into bottles and add a colorful straw.
